KEMP, Texas, May 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hal Richards received an endorsement for Kaufman county judge from Bill Burnett, a US Military Veteran and Kemp, Texas citizen. In a video edited and distributed by Larson Electronics LLC, Burnett announced his support, citing Richards’ responsible nature and previous background as notable reasons to “vote Hal”.

“He (Hal) was in business 35 years where he had to do a budget, go out and buy new equipment, he had to deal with employees, he has all that experience, but he has another experience too,” said Burnett. “He was mayor of Terrell Texas. Working with the tax dollars of the citizens you want to make sure that whoever is spending your money is doing it right, and Hal will do that.”

Bill Burnett is a US military veteran who was responsible for contracting and worked in the missile business where he was required to ensure those going out on missile duty were fully equipped to handle the job. Later in his career he began training others in the missile duty business. Burnett compared his important career responsibilities with that of a county judge position, which he believes Richards is the right man for.

“You’re there to ensure that everybody does their job properly that you work with. You’re there to make sure that those people who you may have to appoint into county positions, and I know you have to do that in certain cases… you want the right people in that job and you’re gonna make sure their trained properly for those positions,” stated Burnett in a sit down with Hal Richards.

The safe keeping and responsible use of tax payer dollars is essential for Kaufman County citizens. Bill Burnett believes that Richards will take care of these funds. “He is an ethical person, he’s a good Christian man, he has a super family,” said Burnett. “He will be there for you. He will do those things you need to be done. I say, vote Hal Richards.”

A video of Bill Burnett’s endorsement can be found here. Media edited and distributed by Larson Electronics LLC, Hal Richards’ supporter.

Edtech company earns industry recognition for Best Reading/Writing/Literature Instructional Solution

Dallas, TX, May 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Istation, for the fifth time, has been named a finalist for a prestigious CODiE Award for Education Technology, presented by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA).

The Dallas-based company is up for the award in the category of “Best Reading/Writing/Literature Instructional Solution” for its “Timeless Tales 2.0: NexLevel” program, which uses the latest educational research to offer standards-aligned, learner-centered experiences all embedded in a game narrative that students want to keep playing.

Natalie Masters, Istation’s Middle School Reading & Writing Curriculum Manager, said students receive immediate feedback for both correct and incorrect answers as well as the chance to try again.

“This is a powerful component of the product,” she said. “It touches on what educational research has known for a long time: students need authentic chances to make mistakes and learn from them.”

Students are given agency through choices that truly influence the game world. All content is aligned to Common Core State Standards for reading and the 2019 English Language Arts and Reading Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).

“Research shows that educational games get real learning results,” said Richard H. Collins, Istation chairman and CEO. “Our talented team works very hard to make sure educational games like Timeless Tales are able to engage and challenge students while providing teachers with the feedback they need to help students reach their potential. It is an honor to once again be a finalist for a CODiE Award.”

In addition to being a finalist five times, Istation has won the award twice: in 2017 for “Product Team of the Year for Math Pre-K-1” and in 2015 for “Best Education App for a Mobile Device.” Istation also recently won a BESSIE Award for the sixth year in a row. The BESSIE – short for “Best Educational Software Awards” – was for “Best Academic Management Website” in the “Teacher Tools” category.

SIIA will announce the 2018 CODiE Award winners on June 13.

Design-build construction firm Ramtech Building Systems of Mansfield, Texas announced that a 1,600 square foot modular office building that the company installed at the main campus of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas is now in operation. The relocatable modular building will be used by the University's Department of Animal and Food Sciences for human-dog interaction research as part of a program to assess the helpfulness of therapy dogs in educational settings including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

MANSFIELD, Texas (PRWEB) May 15, 2018

Design-build construction firm Ramtech Building Systems of Mansfield, Texas announced that a modular office building that the company installed at the main campus of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas is now in operation. The 1,600 square foot facility will be used by the University's Department of Animal and Food Sciences for human-dog interaction research as part of a program to assess the helpfulness of therapy dogs in educational settings including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Designed, manufactured, and installed by Ramtech, the facility utilized Ramtech's traditional relocatable modular building approach on a concrete pier foundation with R-Panel exterior metal siding and metal roof. The interior includes an acoustic tile lay-in ceiling and Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic resilient wall panels along with laminate wood flooring and cove base throughout the facility. The square profile building includes a large activity room that can be separated with a built-in folding partition, a combination waiting and break room, an office area with computer lab stations, and a washroom which meets BSL-2 (biosafety level 2) requirements. The entire wall between the activity room and the office area is outfitted with an observation window for private monitoring of the interactions between the patients and the therapy animals.

The Human-Animal Interaction Lab is used as part of a research program which systematically explores questions regarding companion animal well-being, behavior, and human-animal interactions. For children with ASD, researchers are looking at providing access to therapy dogs as a reward for completing tasks and to assess whether the dogs also help alleviate stress, potentially creating a more pleasant environment by offering emotional support during academic sessions. This allows the students who complete certain academic tasks to spend time with the dogs with the idea that potential interaction further motivates them to complete other tasks. The program also studies dogs to analyze what behaviors are more attractive for potential pet adopters, and in developing ways to bring those behaviors out to improve adoption rates for dogs housed in animal shelters.

HOUSTON, May 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- After leading Houston’s energy industry in 2016 and 2017 at The D10, Cheniere Energy is putting its stamp on the national athletic contest responsible for raising $10.3M+ for pediatric cancer research.Cheniere (NYSE:LNG), the leading U.S. exporter of liquefied natural gas, has formally partnered with The D10 – a national tour that concludes in November in Houston – to support MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a sponsor of The D10 Houston, Cheniere once again finds itself in a leadership position.

“The D10's community-minded athletes exemplify the strength and perseverance of kids who are battling pediatric cancer, and the doctors and researchers who seek the medical breakthroughs needed to find cures to cancer,” said Jack Fusco, President and CEO of Cheniere. “As the top fundraising team from last year's Houston D10, Cheniere is excited to keep the momentum going by officially partnering with The D10 to show Houston's heart."

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. (PRWEB) May 15, 2018

Max Life Insurance Co. Ltd, of India, was awarded gold-level status at ASQ’s International Team Excellence Awards for improving efficiency and cost savings.

In addition to gold-level recognition, Max Group’s Max Healthcare Institute Limited, Team Life Savers, also received a bronze award. ASQ awarded silver-level status to Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center Co. Ltd., Virtual Rubik’s Cube Team, China.

ASQ announced the winning teams at its World Conference on Quality and Improvement in Seattle. Now in its 33nd year, the International Team Excellence Awards brought together 23 entrants from eight countries to present their real-life applications of quality that made valuable improvements in areas such as customer satisfaction, waste reduction, and employee morale — all leading to improved profitability or other organizational benefits.

Max Life’s gold-level winning team used quality tools to reduce life insurance policy discrepancies from 28 percent to 13 percent, which reduced policy contract grievances by 53 percent.

Max India Limited’s Senior Director, Quality and Service Excellence, Prashant Hoskote, said ASQ’s ITEA process “offers great support to Max Group’s quality program, and sets a healthy internal competition among the Group companies.”

Each of Max Group’s operating companies conducts its own annual Project of the Year competition, which then culminates into a Group-level competition called Max Excellence Day. Winning teams on Max Excellence Day get nominated for the ASQ ITEA process.

“(ITEA) has greatly improved the quality of team preparations, and results in substantial tangible and intangible benefits,” he said.

Team Reduction in New Business Discrepancies Project Mentor, Anjali Kalaskar, commented “as a quality professional, preparation for ITEA was a tremendous experience with measurable value.”

Hongmei Xue, quality engineer for the Virtual Rubik’s Cube Team from Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center Co. Ltd., said the recognition achieved in Seattle will encourage other teams to participate in the ITEA process. Xue said their project improved efficiency, improved accuracy, and shortened automotive product development lead time.

Since 1985, thousands of teams worldwide have participated in this team recognition process. Organizations such as Alcoa, Anheuser-Busch, Bayer, Coca-Cola, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Johnson Controls, and Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company have showcased proven results with long-term implications, resulting in collective cost savings of billions of dollars.

Next year’s International Team Excellence Award Process final round will be held at ASQ’s 2019 World Conference on Quality and Improvement, May 20–22, 2019, in Fort Worth, Texas. The deadline for 2018-19 awards program intent to submit form is July 1.
