Direct Energy is ending an active 2013 with yet another multimillion-dollar deal. The Houston-based company, a subsidiary of Britain’s Centrica PLC, said Wednesday it will sell its three Texas gas-fired power plants, including one in Bastrop, to New York-based Blackstone Group LP (NYSE: BX) for $685 million in cash.
