Fewer unionized workers in Texas, report says

The number of Texas workers belonging to a union dropped in 2013, according to labor data released Thursday. There were 518,000 union members in the Lone Star State last year, down from 599,000 in 2012, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Union members accounted for 4.8 percent of all Texas wage and salary workers in 2013, down from 5.7 percent in 2012.
