Greenberg Traurig Continues Growth In Austin With Energy Attorney Dane McKaughan
Austin, TX (PRWEB) February 25, 2014
The Austin office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has added Dane McKaughan as a shareholder in its Global Energy and Infrastructure practice. Dane has broad experience in representing clients in contested rate proceedings before the Railroad Commission of Texas, the Texas State Office of Administrative Hearings and the Texas Public Utility Commission and during his career has acted as lead counsel or co-counsel in more than 40 natural gas and electric utility regulatory proceedings. This addition comes shortly after the strategic hire of shareholder Erika D. Benson, as Greenberg Traurig continues to bolster its thriving energy practice in Texas.
“Greenberg Traurig provides an excellent platform for me to continue serving my clients,” said McKaughan. “Not only can I offer top-notch energy-related advice, but an international suite of services and professionals that can assist my clients as I continue to expand long-term relationships with a focus on value and quality.”
Dane concentrates his practice on energy-related litigation matters, primarily involving regulated entities such as gas utilities and pipelines, electric utilities, and transmission providers. He is experienced in representing clients before the Railroad Commission of Texas along with Public Utility Commission of Texas and also serves as appellate counsel in administrative appeals from agency orders.
“We are excited to add Dane to our growing team in Austin,” said Darrell R. Windham, co-managing shareholder of the firm’s Austin office. “Dane’s strong connections in the Austin business community, along with his extensive energy regulatory and litigation experience, make him a great fit for Greenberg Traurig’s Austin office and for the firm.”
McKaughan holds a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law, an M.P.A. from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. with honors from Austin College.
Greenberg Traurig’s Global Energy & Infrastructure Practice brings together a multidisciplinary team of professionals from across the firm to assist clients with a broad range of national and international project finance and infrastructure development opportunities.
