The National Association of Home Builders revealed in a March 2013 report that they expect a 25% increase in construction jobs between 2010 and 2020. Those hoping to enter this rebounding field are encouraged to finance their training with a Texas Car Title Loan.

Texas (PRWEB) June 06, 2013

A March 2013 report by the National Association of Home Builders reveals that 46% of members have fallen behind schedule on projects, and 15% have had to turn down jobs because they do not have enough workers. As the economy recovers and more people are ready to invest in long-term assets like a home, many will be alarmed to find a sharp increase in prices associated with building. As a result of the worker shortage, the prices of homes have risen 10.2% in the first quarter of 2013.

When housing jobs dried up in 2007, many workers turned to other fields. Over time, they have aged out of the profession. This, combined with few people entering the field due to the lack of jobs over the past six years, has resulted in a severe employee shortage in the construction field.

Texas builders are feeling the pinch; builders now worry about competing companies stealing their best employees. Jan Mally, the owner of a construction company in the Houston area, states: “It costs so much money to hire somebody, maybe $3,500 just to get them on board – without counting the cost of training them. Once they’re on the job site, you have to guard them.”

“It got so bad at the Exxon headquarters construction site, they had to put in rules not to go after other construction workers.”

Some builders turn to sharing specialized crews with other companies. A Kansas City home builder states, “We’ve had to share a framing crew with another contractor.”

The construction field is expected to grow about 25% between 2010 and 2020, ballooning from 6 million workers to 7.5 million. For those graduating high school or college, a career in construction will almost certainly lead to a job. However, this field requires specialized training, and completing a program in carpentry, construction engineering, civil engineering, or architecture will help job applicants stand out. An apprenticeship would also be highly beneficial.

Texas residents now have an alternative solution to covering the costs of training or education: Texas Car Title Loans. A car title loan provides borrowers with instant access to cash based on the value of their vehicle. These loans do not require credit checks, making them ideal for those who are right out of school and haven’t had time to build a credit history, or those whose credit was negatively impacted by the recession.
