I’m Ryan Sitton. I grew up in Irving, Texas the son of two school teachers (mom taught chemistry and dad taught physics). I graduated from Texas A&M with a mechanical engineering degree and started my professional career in the energy industry. In 2006, my wife and I started an energy industry integrity firm out of the garage at our house. The company offers engineering and technology solutions to energy companies to make sure that their production facilities operate safely. We’ve been extremely blessed and that company has grown to over 300 employees.
Having worked in the energy industry my entire professional career, I have seen first-hand how a strong energy industry benefits every citizen of Texas and the United States. In addition, I have developed a passion and a vision to make Texas the leading energy producer in the world. We have the natural resources and the capabilities to make that a reality, but we need the right policies and leaders at the Railroad Commission for that happen.
I’m a committed Christian conservative who is pro-life (Texas Alliance for Life PAC has endorsed my campaign), supports the Second Amendment, believes in limited, constitutional government, and family values. However, that does not qualify me to serve on the Railroad Commission. What does qualify me is that I am a mechanical engineer who has worked in the oil and gas industry my entire professional career, and that I’ll be the first engineer on the Commission in over fifty years.
During my time in the industry, I’ve fought the EPA and other federal bureaucracies against overreaching and unnecessary regulations. This experience will be critical as we strive to keep the federal government out of our way.
One hundred years ago the United States dominated energy markets and set global prices. Our nation didn’t rely on foreign countries to meet our energy needs or grow our economy and we weren’t beholden to Middle Eastern regimes. I want to see us resume our global leadership position and stop relying on other countries for our energy needs when we can produce that energy ourselves.
To achieve energy independence we need to increase refining capacitiy. We need to encourage companies to invest in infrastructure and we need regulatory policies that are clear and consistent. With the right leaders at the Railroad Commission, I’m confident Texas can succeed in spite of the dysfunction in Washington.
My opponent in this race has zero oil and gas experience. He’s a career politician that’s lost about as many races as he’s won. I’m not running for Railroad Commissioner because I need a job. My opponent is. Wayne Christian has adopted Obama-style attacks against me because of my success and industry knowledge. He claims I have a conflict of interest because I’ve worked in the industry, even though my company has never had a case before the Railroad Commission, and I plan to step away from the company if elected.
I hope you’ll reject Wayne Christian’s false attacks and support my campaign. I want to put my experience in oil and gas to work for the people of Texas. I want Texas to responsibly produce enough energy that America’s net energy imports are zero. I want America to be more secure and to stop relying on other countries to meet our energy needs.
Ryan Sitton
