Local Foundation, Today I Can, Targets Obesity and Receives Support from Local Businesses
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) May 15, 2014
The Dallas Moving Company, All My Sons Moving & Storage partners with local CPA and Cyclist, Ford Baker on a Tour de PAC 12 to get people moving. “We saw Ford’s transformation and wanted to help him inspire others to get moving,” shared Ormando Gomez, an All My Sons Moving & Storage representative.
Mr. Baker will complete the bulk of the Tour in July of this year, exactly two years since he got moving. To his credit he has lost over 120 pounds to date. His cycling tour will take him all the way down the coast, over 2,000 miles total with 1,800 of it being from Vancouver Canada to Tijuana Mexico. He is a long time college football fan and plans on making stops at every PAC 12 stadium as well as some of our All My Sons Moving & Storage locations along the way. “Our team members will be there to cheer him on,” shared Mr. Gomez. Ford’s goal is to bring increased awareness to the issue of obesity and how one decision to get moving and eating better can profoundly impact an individual’s life. “I did something I never thought possible and I want to inspire the next person,” explained Mr. Baker.
Mr. Baker will post updates about his tour on social media and his blog. “A friend saw my story on Facebook and started moving. She lost 40 pounds,” shared Mr. Baker. He hopes the Tour de PAC 12 will motivate others to make wiser choices and achieve goals they never saw as attainable. Mr. Baker along with his friend Doug Walker began the Today I Can Foundation. This organization’s sole purpose is to be a vehicle of hope for those who feel like they can’t do it. “I owe it to the next person to do everything I can to encourage them to give it a try, just today and if that works, then they can think about doing it tomorrow,” concluded Baker.
