TriStar Plastics helps manufacturers identify genuine bearings to improve performance.
Shrewsbury, MA (PRWEB) May 15, 2014
TriStar Plastics, the leader in engineered plastic solutions, announces a free white paper to help manufacturers identify genuine Rulon® materials and avoid costly equipment failures associated with counterfeit bearings. The report is available free of charge.
“Genuine, self-lubricating Rulon bearings provide superior performance in hundreds of industrial applications, yet there is a substantial number of low-quality, counterfeit resins being sold ― unscrupulously ―under the Rulon brand name,” said Richard Cedrone, CEO of TriStar Plastics. “As the exclusive distributor of Rulon bearings in North America, we want to set the record straight, and help our partners avoid the hazards of counterfeit materials,” he notes.
Genuine Rulon bearings are produced under strict processing controls and undergo tribology testing for polymer characterization and regulatory compliance. In the case of counterfeit bearings, there is no guarantee of resin purity, and materials are often manufactured in substandard conditions. “With counterfeit bearings, manufacturers risk paying a premium for lesser materials, and are also prone to equipment breakdowns and even product recalls,” Cedrone adds.
