Miller-Valentine Group is proud to announce, in conjunction with their partner organizations, the Grand Reopening of Wooster’s most desirable affordable housing community: Palm House Apartments. The ceremony will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 1183 Rebecca Street, Wooster, OH 44691; property tours and a reception will immediately follow the ceremony.

Wooster, Ohio (PRWEB) June 14, 2014

We are honored to have several distinguished speakers at this event, including: Sarah Lowry, Ohio Regional Representative, US Senator Sherrod Brown’s Office; Doug Klingensmith, President, Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing; Doug Garver, Vice President, Ohio Housing Finance Agency; and Paul Ettore, Great Lakes & Northeast Regional Manager, Key Bank Community Development Lending.

Miller-Valentine Group worked with Ohio Housing Finance Agency, Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing, Key Bank Community Development Lending, and US Department of Housing and Urban Development to acquire and rehabilitate the 45 year old property back to like-new condition.

Palm House Apartments has undergone a full scale renovation, which included the addition of eight accessible apartment homes, supportive services, energy-efficient appliances, central heating and air conditioning, as well as a new community room, and laundry facility. This community is now better prepared to accommodate the lifestyles of our residents. These spacious apartment homes are offered at very affordable rates made possible through the Housing Tax Credit Program.

Palm House Apartments boosted the local economy with close to $5 million of local revenues including wages for workers and revenue for local proprietors, small businesses, and corporations. In addition, Palm House Apartments generated 93 new jobs during its renovation for local contractors and sub-contractors.

Dave Liette, Partner and President, Miller-Valentine Residential Development, said “preserving older apartment homes marketable to moderate income families is critical in all communities across the country. Palm House Apartments preserves one of the few local affordable housing options available in the City of Wooster. We are privileged to serve families in this area and prove to them that our passion is to positively impact their lives.”
