Snellville Texas Roadhouse Line Dances for a Cause Patch Snellville, GA --

Snellville's Texas Roadhouse participated in its fourth annual region-wide line dance competition at Stone Mountain on June 11. Waiters, waitresses, hostesses and managers from nine restaurants, including Huntsville, Montgomery and Pelham, Ala., participated.

Snellville Patch editor Crystal Huskey served as one of the "celebrity judges" for the event, judging each line-dance group on performance, choreography and creativity.

Hilary Burke, director of the Georgia chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society, also served as judge. Before the competition took place, Snellville Texas Roadhouse manager Sam Roper presented her with a check for over $50,000 for the foundation. Roper and his wife Amy have been personally affected by MS - his father recently passed away from complications of the disease while his sister still lives with it.

The amount was raised over the course of three years. The Ropers used this event as a kickoff for the 2013 golf fundraiser - $5 of each participant's admission was donated to the MS Society of Georgia.

Three teams took home prizes during the competition. Montgomery, Ala., won the award for line-dancing to Brooks and Dunn, Pelham won for their performance during Blake Shelton's "Redneck" and Huntsville took home the freestyle award.
