Former NFL quarterback Vince Young will be returning to his alma mater, but not to play as the award-winning, championship-winning team leader he once was.
The University of Texas hired Young as a part of its Division of Diversity and Community Engagement on Thursday. In his new role, Young will be a development officer for the program's alumni relations, focusing on raising money for first-generation and low-income students.

In June, Young retired from NFL football at the age of 31. He played six seasons in the NFL on a number of teams, but started his professional career on the Tennessee Titans in 2006, where he would make the Pro Bowl twice in his time with the Titans.
