Vince Young Returns to University of Texas in Diversity Outreach Role

Former NFL quarterback Vince Young will be returning to his alma mater, but not to play as the award-winning, championship-winning team leader he once was.

The University of Texas hired Young as a part of its Division of Diversity and Community Engagement on Thursday. In his new role, Young will be a development officer for the program's alumni relations, focusing on raising money for first-generation and low-income students.

In June, Young retired from NFL football at the age of 31. He played six seasons in the NFL on a number of teams, but started his professional career on the Tennessee Titans in 2006, where he would make the Pro Bowl twice in his time with the Titans. He was released from the Titans in 2011, where he would then join the Philadelphia Eagles — which would later be his last professional start. Read more...
