Plano, TX (PRWEB) July 23, 2013

OptiSense Network LLC™ (http://www.optisense.net), a leading global provider of optical sensor-based solutions for automating electrical distribution networks to enable the Smart Grid, announced today that Stephen L. Prince, President and CEO of OptiSense Network, has been selected as one of four finalists for the 2013 Tech Titans Emerging Company CEO award by the Metroplex Technology Business Council (MTBC).

Tech Titans are recognized as outstanding technology companies and individuals in the North Texas area who have made significant contributions to their industries during the past year. The winner will be announced August 23, 2013.

The Tech Titans Emerging Company CEO award recognizes the CEO of a technology company headquartered in the DFW Metroplex with 2012 operating revenues of at least $2 million but no more than $200 million.

Award qualifications include ownership of a proprietary technology, demonstration of leadership, vision, commitment and impact to the technology industry and the community, and measurable accomplishments as a direct result of the CEO’s leadership.

“It is an honor to be selected as a finalist for the Emerging Company CEO award for outstanding performance by Tech Titans,” says Stephen Prince, President and CEO of OptiSense Network.

“This century will see even more aspects of our lives become digital and electricity is the lifeblood of digital economies," notes Prince. "However, smarter grids begin with smarter lines. OptiSense has developed the most accurate, medium-voltage optical sensors available for distribution systems for smart grids.”

Founded in 2001, OptiSense Network received a $1.5 M investment by the Texas Emerging Technology Fund in 2007. Under Prince’s leadership, OptiSense has increased revenues tenfold in two years, acquired customers in six countries and has created new career opportunities for optical telecom professionals in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex.

"OptiSense has the opportunity to positively affect Distribution Automation globally," says Prince. "Renewable energy and distributed generation delivery, power reliability, and worker safety are all enhanced when utilities have accurate intelligence beyond the substation. I'm excited for our future in North Texas."
