Texas tops the country in wind power, according to Energy Department

Texas is the country’s biggest and fastest-growing wind energy market, according to a Department of Energy report released Tuesday. Last year, Texas added some 1,826 megawatts (MW), clenching the top rank among U.S. states, according to DOE’s 2012 Wind Technologies Market Report. With a total of 12,214 MW installed at the end of 2012, Texas boasted more than double the capacity of the next highest state.
