A full length feature film “The Ghosts of Wimberley” is being produced by Pecan Street Productions of Austin, Texas in conjunction with SOMA Inc. of Dallas, Texas; is officially in pre-production.
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) August 22, 2013
The movie script is written and the film is directed by award winning director David A. Cox formerly of Los Angeles and New York, and currently residing and teaching in Austin, Texas.
This heartwarming story of a young 10-year old girl’s battle with polio (before there was a cure) in the late 40's takes us on a journey from World War II and a father with amnesia confined to a London Hospital, to a Ghostly encounter from the girl’s deceased mother to save her daughter. A film with many twists that will leave the audience both in tears and smiles.
This film is based on a true story from the author's life, growing up shunned by others due to his battle with polio. The character of the 10 year old being a girl seemed a better choice to David since he believed the bond was stronger between a father and daughter. The ghost is used as a catalyst to weave four partially true stories together into one emotionally moving experience.
The Ghosts of Wimberley movie will be filmed in Texas and will feature up and coming actors and actresses who reside in Texas. The movie production is due for filming in and around the Wimberley, TX area in the fall of 2013 with release in 2014. Due to the use of Texas locations, actors, and production, the film is approved for special film industry incentives as outlined by the Texas Film Commission and the Office of the Governor of Texas.
This is a call to action for all participants in the entertainment industry such as executive producers, line producers, actors, distributors, cinematographers, screenwriters, set designers, costumers, music score personnel, and artists just to name a few, who can attract quality of talent and investors that identify with the heartfelt warmth of films like “It’s A Wonderful Life”.
